Word Splash Pro 6.0 is now 32bit for native support of Windows 95/98/2000/NT.
The Export feature now allows exporting to the WMF format. This file format can be imported into other software programs and will produce smooth scaling images. Every element of WMF files can be edited in vector editing software like Corel Draw.

When exporting or clipping in a graphic format you can now preview your image to verify the image resolution, color resolution, file size and compression settings being used. The image shown is exactly what your graphic file will look like, so there is no guess work.
Turn on the instant clipboard capture feature and any text sent to the clipboard, from any program, will instantly get transferred to the Word Splash Pro word list editing area. This is great for building word lists from word processing documents and web pages.
A new set of text processing utilities add extra features that allow you to more easily cleanup a word list brought in from other sources. Quickly extract text, split lines, remove text, create question and answer word lists or swap lines.

The preview and printing engine has been updated to add support for printer drivers that do not support transparent text backgrounds. This has been an issue with two printers.
A new check box has been added to the Page Layout Window that will cause all printing and exporting to use shades of gray instead of any specified colors. This allows forcing grayscale without having to modify the color settings.
A new check box has been added to the Page Layout Window that will cause all text to be printed or exported in black. This allows forcing a black text without having to modify the font color settings.
A new check box has been added to the Page Layout Window that will cause any TOP text paragraphs to be printed in the answer sheet. This will make sure that the puzzle grid is in the same position as the actual puzzle so that the answer can be held over the puzzle for checking. This is very useful when creating a transparency overlay.
The file save and load windows have been redesigned to more closely resemble the look of the Windows 95/98/2000/NT File Explorer. Long file names are supported. The list of files can be sorted by the file name, the files internal title and the size of the data when appropriate.

Word Splash Pro can now be launched by opening any of it's data files from the Windows File Explorer (My Computer). Icons will also now identify Word Splash Pro file types when listed. Puzzle files can also be printed by right clicking on the file and selecting "print" from the pop-up menu.
Prior versions of Word Splash Pro would default the puzzle title to "Word Search Puzzle" if no title was entered. This feature has been removed to make it easier to have no title.
You can now export your answer grid when publishing an HTML only web page. Noise characters will be displayed as a dash in the grid. Earlier versions only supported this feature when exporting the grid in a graphic file format (like JPG).
The export process now saves the last export type and location to make it easier when exporting multiple puzzles.
The key typer now shows both the windows numeric key entry method and the Word Splash Pro alphabetic method so you can more easily learn how to enter special characters.
The duplicate word checking process is now significantly faster.
50 new ready to use word lists have been added.
The random word list generator will now more evenly select words. In the past, all word list FILES were first given an equal chance of being used, even if one file had less words than the others. This would increase the chances of words from a small list being included. Now, all words are given an equal chance of being used no matter how many words are in the individual files.
The software will also warn if you if the selected word lists do not contain enough words to generate a list of the requested size.
If duplicate word checking is turned on then the words will be screened as they are added. In past versions you were asked to manually weed through any duplicates.
When loading a saved randomizer list the software will reinitialize the Word List Builder and the Randomizer windows to the same state as when the list was originally built. The Word List Builder window will be changed to the location of the word lists, and the Randomizer list will be loaded with the word list titles instead of the file names.
When loading a saved randomizer list the software will now verify that the files still exist in the same location on your hard drive. If they do not, you will be asked for the new location. Upon locating the new location of the word lists you will asked if you want to resave the randomizer file with the new selected location.
There is a new option under the File menu called Automated New... This new feature allows automatically creating new puzzles based on the same word list or the same random word list settings. The new puzzles can be printed or saved to disk. This is a great way to instantly create a lot of random word puzzles, or to instantly create a collection of puzzles from the same word list.

The load/save windows were enhanced to display faster and sort the columns faster when you click on the column titles. They will aslo save the sort order used for each file type when you load an item. It will display the files in the same order the next time the window is brought up.
When the software asks if you want to load the defaults (instead of keeping your current settings) the software will now apply the RESET style before it loads any default files you've created. This will restore Word Splash Pro to a better default state.
Some computers in Europe were detecting non-existant file corruption problems. This has been corrected.
On earlier versions of 6.0 the answer sheet block highlight method was not printing the noise text in the grid. This has been updated.
On the Page Layout window you can now assign colors to be used when printing the answer puzzle. Assign a color to the word text, noise text, highlight lines and highlight background.
Sometimes multiple print jobs were started when multiple copies of a puzzle were printed. This resulted in more copies printing that expected. This problem has been resolved.
The page formatting logic was adjusted to handle word list spacing and calculated columns even better under the new 6.0 printer engine.
